Yetunde Olasiyan’s Blog is back
Dear readers of Yetunde Olasiyan’s Blog, it is with shame that I type this piece(covers face and bow head in shame). I can’t even face you all but before anything, let me apologize deeply for my prolonged absence. It has been due to some unforeseen circumstances beyond my control. I have been plagued with the worst form of writer’s block and yet have had a very adventurous time filled with travels.
Still, most of you have been very patient and have not relented in sending in mails, calls, chats and the likes asking about my whereabout and encouraging me to continue. It is to you all that I dedicate this comeback. Your faith in me is so inspiring.
I have to mention names here and I hope I would be pardoned.
I appreciate a lot of my friends and colleagues both in Nigeria and in the diaspora who expressed worries over my unceremonial exit/absence from this page. Sincerely,I owe you all a lot. I want to thank every reader of my blog, those I know and those I don’t, for staying true. I have missed you all.
I have to thank my friend in Canada, who went all the way to contact my friends who we had worked together in the past. She got my number and shared it with everyone. You know, sometimes in SS3, it was my birthday and she surprisingly came to give me a card which read “I knew not giving anything would be bad,so I have saved and saved just to buy this token”. I was wowed. She must have forgotten. Then, we attended FAHPAC programme together once where I represented the L&D and she represented Interact or press club,I can’t really remember that. Ayomide Olatiregun Bankole, I am most grateful to you for being a good friend over the years.
If there is any friend who has never lost her naughty and humorous habit even after a baby, then it is this special friend of mine, we sat together all through school from SS1 to 3. Am sure everyone wants to know what she did. Well, she placed a 10dollar bill on my head for anybody who had first class information about my whereabout, lol. I can’t help grinning as I type this.Bisi Martins,I did not get lost in the jungle of the NigerDelta o neither did I get kidnapped by the boys in the creek. Thanks so much for caring,my BFF.
My only prof friend on the east side of the map sent me a couple of mails and messages on facebook which I didn’t see on time. We spoke on phone and in her usual blunt self chastised me for getting swept away by aso ebi thingz when I was whinning to her about aso ebi eating my funds. Aso ebi is a topic for another day on this blog. I respect her for being tenacious and outstanding. Love you girl.
My doctor friend in the US was like “oh you really got me worried, where have you been?” She is my really close pal and I thought we had each other until she left. We are always cool together, thanks Mrs Fatokun.
Kayode Balogun kept calling and sending messages. He went an extra length to get my number too. He said he thought I got married and moved away. I laughed heartily. Thank you so much friend.
Tynukehfavored Badmus, Fikky Akins, Orisunayomide Fagbenle(I hope you will leave the white soil and come home soon) Tiamiyu Olawumi,Dare Oye and numerous other readers who I do not know by name, may God remember you all for good. Thank you so much for staying loyal.
So sit back and enjoy as I bring you fresh and scintillating stories from the seat of power, the centre of unity where I presently reside.
