What’s your addiction?
An addict is a person who is very interested in something and spends a lot of their free time on it. Just as heroine is addictive to some people, it is coke for some others. As weird as it seems, i have found out that am seriously addicted to myself(meaning that i live, breathe and exist in my own company). Not a nerd, though. No.
It is no longer news that I am addicted to the aroma of my neighbour’s saturday cooking. Her kitchen is close to my bedroom window. If you think I love sleeping in my room on saturday afternoons, think again!!!. It is the aroma of either her party jollof rice or egusi soup or efo riro that keeps me inside. There is a difference between home-cooked jollof rice and party jollof rice. The latter has a unique taste which makes people scramble over themselves at parties(FFOs). I dont know how my neighbour achieves her unique home cooked jollof which smells like party jollof. But the deal is, i enjoy the aroma every saturday.
Yeah, my example of a great day is a national holiday with full internet access to read Atoke’s Monday morning banter on BellaNaija(BTW i love atoke), read Tunde Leye(the writer who got married to a fashion designer), read novels on my phone, write on my blog with a box of chocolate, sometimes youghurt, but surely/mostly with puffpuff(lmfao) and isu dindin(fried yam). Thoughts flow better with those things. To appear ‘tush’, we call all those puffpuff and fried yam- ‘all fries’. When you just say you are eating ‘all fries’, that’s a combination of different fried yummy things to satisfy your palate. Asides this, i dont think i have any serious addiction
Now, to those who are addicted to DSTV..is it true that DSTV has been blocking the name of God in its transmission? While some have argued that obscene languages and a mention of Ifa etc are blocked too, why is this coming at a time when TV is inching towards digitalisation?
The international telecomms union has set the stage for global transmission from analogue to digital by June 17, 2015. In case you didnt know, you read it here first. In case you still do not understand, it means that is the date broadcast stations are expected to go digital and analogue television viewers would no longer be able to receive signals on their sets. Little wonder the price of dstv came down(if you dont have it yet, dont worry. They’ll soon start giving it for free in another festive season). But why is this coincidental with the blocking of God’s name? Is this a sign of the endtimes? Hmmm!
While some people are addicted to social media, some are addicted to power. That is why we have the same set of old people who have been in government, contesting over and over again. Its a recycle.
To those who are seriously addicted to social media, thanks for always keeping some of us entertained and informed about your world(giggling).
