What Channels Did To Me!!

On the day that Channels TV came to my court, I was combing my hair and checking out myself on the blank computer screen in front of my colleague. That computer screen has been saving lives since 19gbogboro..

.
As I turned this way and that way, admiring my silky long hair, I kept on looking into the camera, thinking the camera man was just pulling a stunt on me since he deliberately focused his lens on me.

.
In case you have been itching to ask, my Noble Lord is doing very well. He sat on a very popular labour matter in Nigeria that got me shown on NTA Network news(which I saw) and probably Channels which I never got to see thankfully😁because there was no light.

.

It was after I saw myself on Network news that I understood what Channels did to me. They were not there to play. So I probably(or not) appeared on national TV combing my hair and smiling sheepishly at my reflection on the computer screen? Yuck!!!!

.
Anyways, I have missed writing my Garki Chronicles🤔…the new friend I made on the street who stopped me this week on my way to the office and said

.
“My friend, it’s been a while. So you work in the court?”

.

Well, I don’t have any new pictures to share..

I was shocked. Though his office is five blocks from mine but no way would he have known which of the numerous offices on that street I come out from.

.
“How did you know?”, I blurted out

.
“Ah, I saw you on NTA Network news and I was even telling my wife that see o, this lady is my friend, I know this lady”, he said excitedly.

.
I was just nodding. He was just so excited-he saw his friend on TV. I’m even smiling now just reliving the experience.

.
Then, I got to the office and a friend who works in the library came to meet me
“I saw you on NTA”.

.
A driver…the one who once drove me in daddy’s car to Court of Appeal and later became the first one I saw the day I joined the office bus said to me also

.
“I saw you on national TV”.

.
Oh…everyone saw me except my village people. Thankfully, I haven’t heard from them.

.
Throughout the period we sat on that matter, TV stations and reporters were daily flooding the court.

.
I went to meet milord the next Monday after the court injunction barring labour from going on strike.

.
“Good morning Milord, how was your weekend?”

.
“Oh, it was very fine, yetunde. How are you?”

.
“Fine Milord. Sir, I saw myself on the news on Friday night o. Your chair was shown too.
They were in the hallowed Chambers of the court just before you came out. Milord, you are the most popular judge in Nigeria now o”.

.
“Ehn, ehen”, He laughed

.
Didn’t you see the news milord?”

.
“No, I didn’t”

.
Your name is all over the internet, infact all the Cyber space….print and electonic media.
He smiled.

.
*******

.
Well, I am even tired of appearing on NTA because I have been appearing on NTA since I was young.

.

Thefirst time was when I was 14, at MUSON centre when I got the 1st prize Southwest zone in a national essay contest. But then, other TV stations were there too.

.

I appeared on BCOS ibadan 7’o clock news when I was about 6 or 7 years old in primary 3. My whole family had seen me on the news as we all sat eating a plate of probably Amala and ewedu at home.

.
I really need to be on CNN soon.

.
In all honesty, I am so excited to be back. It’s been a long hiatus.

.
All my social media gadgets crashed at the same time. ….

.
I went back and forth trying to fix the laptop first. Then, the phone crashed afterwards. I got tired.

.
A lot has happened between now and then.

.
Will anyone welcome me back here or you have all moved to another cyberspace?
