I was just about to go to bed when I logged in to my bellanaija account and saw that my post was published about 4 hours ago. It’s an interesting but deep article. Let me just leave it here:
I will be seeing Milord. But I won’t be eating anything under the heavy desk. I have evolved.
Been wondering….now when I am supposed to be on vacation, I work till 1am or thereabout almost everyday. Other days could be 12am. It just got kinda busier. Only that the pressure reduced greatly. But that’s fair enough. Because that pressure could kill.
Then I would wake up tired and still spend few minutes dozing on my living room couch.
Tomorrow again, I will be on a race against time, rushing to go catch the bus early. Sometimes, I love the quick rush of adrenaline, the early morning mad bike rides where my hair flies over my face with reckless abandon.
Most times while still on the bike, I am busy scanning white buses across the road trying to read their inscriptions-Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, News Agency of Nigeria, National Mathematical centre etc.
(Because sometimes when my bus has crossed to the other side of the road, my Usain Bolt skills have to come into play. I ran like that last week using the overhead bridge. I didn’t even stop to catch my breath until I got in.)
Then, my sigh of relieve when I see the white bus that matters to me with the right inscription -‘Judiciary’ waiting patiently for me. Then, I release my breath and say to the bike man:
“Just go and block him. I am the one they are waiting for.”
I can’t wait to go on my annual leave. Maybe then, I can really get a deserved rest.
Lemme hurry outta here…I’ve got a whole day of sitting tomorrow.
Peace, Love and Cupcakes
