MMM- get rich quick or die trying
“But I don’t want to get rich quick. Make I kukuma remain at my level”. I keep saying to them. But they have remained adamant in pulling/initiating an innocent me into this end time mafia things.
I am not a fan of money doubling games. No matter how much you ” cash out or recoup”, I am simply not interested.
I just got off the phone with Emeka, my friend who was asking for my account detail to do MMM.
Emeka- “since you no dey do MMM, abeg gimme your account details now.”
Me- “someone is already using it.”
Emeka-” Give me another one now. I no say no be only one account you get”.
Seriously, there are people like this? He had called me some months back, in the middle of the night to tell me to join. I got furious with him over the phone and tried creating a distance since then. I only said “hi” to him this morning after a long time when he brought up this again.
So even if I have hundred accounts in different banks, I should donate it to people to use my name for MMM.
Previously, another close friend had asked me some weeks back and I innocently obliged. I knew next to nothing about it then. I just thought i was being nice. But my sixth sense instantly told me I was in deep shit. How?
I was at the salon today when a strange number kept calling me. It was a tiny female voice. I told the fellow to send a text.she did. Only that it was to tell me she credited my account.
Again, I was on the queue to use the ATM this evening when a lady approached me and was talking like she was in some serious situation.
She needed my phone to send an information to her sister who was already in the bank. The bank had locked its booth and was no longer allowing people to go in except for those already inside. It was past their working hour.
I looked at her closely, wondering why she would have the gut to approach a stranger and ask for phone. And because they say women are their own worst enemies who don’t assist each other, I offered to give her my ‘palasa’ Nokia and she shook her head, indicating she wanted to collect my infinix mobile. Yeepa!!, I did a double take.
For an instant, I wondered if she was really alright. She began panting frantically saying she needed to use the browser.
So I opened the browser on my phone, gave it to her, stood closely by her to see what she was going to do until she opened mmmnigeria.net or something and I felt cold rage within me.
I collected my phone, moved away and went to place the urgent call I had put on hold just to assist a damsel in distress.
As if that was not enough, another fellow called claiming he sent another amount. In total, I have received strange calls from three different people I would never meet. Almost three hundred thousand naira sits in my account as a result.
Seriously, I cannot continue this way. I intend telling my friend to suspend my name from this thing. In twenty four hours, I am already ‘tayad’. Reason why I don’t want to get rich quick in this manner.
Why does this thing promote greediness? Why do you have to use other people’s bank details to create multiple profile for yourself. And you say you are rendering help and it is in line with the holy books? Where in the holy book is greediness encouraged?
Why does this thing promote laziness? I walked into Dominos pizza on a sultry Wednesday morning and I see a man in suit busy in front of his laptop. My friend looked and told me the man in suit was on his MMM page.
Its now annoying when people ask for my bank details upandan. Please, let some of us be. We simply aren’t interested in getting involved or in giving out bank details.
I am sure the number of people who would have opened new accounts across Nigerian banks would have swelled.
Please make all the money you can make but while at it, do not give some of us sleepless night over your dealings. We simply don’t want to die trying.
