Matters arising from US election
Contrary to popular opinion, I have refused to queue behind the overtly zealous political analysts, the Joneses, the attention seeking bigots and people who are not directly or indirectly affected by the just concluded US elections but are even more pained than Hillary Clinton, to say that I do not really care who eventually won.
Why do we believe so much in people and what they have to offer? Why do we believe so much in promises? Why do we place our hope in the creature more than in the creator? Who says a female president or an inexperienced male billionaire is the answer to everything that concerns God’s own country.
God certainly rules in the affairs of men. We simply do not have any control over anything least of all, rightly predicting the outcome of an election. Woe is any man that puts his trust in man. How did a man who was disliked and lost popularity vote eventually win the election? That is the mystery of divine mercy. You may try to unravel it using Pythagoras theorem or by asking your ancestors(hehehe)
Why are Nigerians getting angry over what doesn’t ‘consign’ them. The same people who said Buhari was everything they needed for Nigeria to succeed, who said they were willing to vote for him even if all he had to show as certificate was a Nepa bill. They are the same people crying wolf over US election.
For those saying the president elect would send away immigrants and be tough on Muslims, I beg to differ. That may not be achieved in a sane society. Maybe it could happen in Nigeria, but certainly not the US. Yes, there could be stricter immigration laws just like the UK did, but every other matter shouldn’t be taken to heart.
Whatever the case may be, let the dead bury their dead. Even Hillary is not as angry as most Nigerians. Stop taking panadol for another man’s headache.
To all the seers and oracles who saw with their crystal ball upside down, I hail you. Who is he that sayeth and it cometh to pass when the Lord has not commanded it, it shall come to naught.
Aren’t you even tired of seeing? Why not use those eyes to look into other matters. Was it not enough that some predicted Nigeria was going to break up in 2015 and the last election was going to be bloody? Who still listens to end time prophets? Who needs these prophecies?
Well, the only way the US interferes in my affair is when atarodo and alubosa sellers (pepper and onion sellers) tell me that I cannot get my money’s worth because dollar has increased. Does that even make sense? When did we start importing pepper and onions from the states?
