15 Hot Questions For Yetunde Olanike Olasiyan- Writer, Blogger, A Poet And A Soon-To-Be Author

2. If you were the President for one day and you have the power to fix one thing in Nigeria, what will it be and WHY?

.
Electricity is the major thing I would fix because the lack of it affects all sectors of the economy. It affects poor people trying to make a means mostly. There is little gain in their little business as it is, so, having to look for an alternative means of generating power to boost their business would further deplete their meagre earning.
Again, in general hospitals these days, so many lives are lost due to lack of electricity. I witnessed it firsthand about three weeks ago when I could not be attended to because of power outage.

3. What is the most annoying thing you have heard people say about women in Nigeria?

.
That women are all the same. Especially where it concerns money or domestic affairs. They say women all reason the same way and they love money. It irks me to a great deal.

4. What is the one most important thing about being a woman that you would want your daughter to know?

.
That a woman is the best and most privileged of God’s creature. A woman has so many innate abilities that cannot be quantified. She can sense danger from afar, multitask, birth children through pain, be successful and very intelligent at the same time. No other gender has this rare gift possessed by women all over the world. She is the most blessed out of God’s creature.

5. Do you believe in gender equality? Why or Why not?

.
Yes I do. Because for a long time, women have been at the receiving end of backlashes, societal and cultural stereotypes, traditional man made values that have robbed them of their value and self worth. No gender is superior to another. God created us equally.

6. If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year old, which would you choose?

.
The body of a 30 year old

7. What is your opinion of the Nigerian woman?
She is gradually evolving. She has started to take her place in life and in destiny. She isn’t brainwashed any longer to be overshadowed by a man’s achievement. She is taking responsibilities and attaining great heights in human history.
8 If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one special quality or ability, what would it be?

.
To be able to solve all problems of the less privileged around me. The young innocent boy hawking pure water who is out of school, the single mother who plaits my hair to support her boys and earn a living, the almajiris that sing wherever the car stops on my way to zaria, those who need money to pay their medical bills.

.
9. If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know? Why or why not?

.
Knowing the future would make me anxious. It would set me on edge. It would make me lose the sense of excitement that comes with a giant stride. It would no longer be a eureka moment. I’d prefer for everything to be unfolded one after the other.

.

10. Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item What would it be? Why?
