Ibadan is now bearing semblance to Lagos in terms of madness, traffic gridlock, increased population and obvious incredulity of the sheer attitude of an average Ibadan person(I will explain this in another post).
All the roads especially the Sanyo-Muslim-Olorunsogo axis are now bedevilled with serious traffic jam in the early part of the day. The Iwo road axis especially the Wema-Gbagi to Iwo road is also another dark kettle of fish. The drivers are more reckless, traffic rules don’t exist and if they do, it is flagrantly disregarded. Everywhere is suddenly busier.
But one thing you can’t take away from Ibadan is the air of simplicity, of nonchalance, of verbal abuse and of unique flawless intonation.
I had called my dear friend KGB asking him where to get a hot bowl of the Ibadan delicacy and after he gave me an apt description, just then, I saw a woman hawking chocolate viju drink-my favorite. So I stopped her and took my first sip of it in a long time. The feeling was bliss.
Yes, right there in front of Tantalizers, opposite Total Filling Station just as I was only five minutes walk from the popular amala place- I took the drink in the full glare of all, oblivious to peering eyes in my surrounding.
Then I rushed inside a popular mall and spent time there until my publisher called me.
To cut the gist short, I was at Winepress Publishing yesterday, autographing some copies of my books.
If you are in Osogbo and would like a Meet and Greet, get in touch with me today through Facebook messenger or through firstname.lastname@example.org. I will be at Lautech Teaching Hospital. I can personally autograph copies of my book for you there today. Price is 2k. I will be available in Osogbo till 6pm.
