Boy apologises publicly!!! #Keepthechangebae#
I am glad to be here again. The past 48hours has been crazy. On the day of the blogversary, I was out almost the whole day. By the time i managed to get home later, it was to grab a drink and dash out again. My eyes were heavy but i couldn’t sleep. I had a speaking/teaching session in Church by evening. I got home very late at night drained of energy. This explains my absence from the blog throughout that day.
Yesterday, I had lots of work to do. My work involves writing and writing. I needed to satisfy my clients and meet deadlines. So I was super busy trying to do all that.
Life has been passing away swiftly and last time I checked, March expires in 24hours. This year is gradually going too. I have decided to take deliberate actions this year. I mean, go all out to achieve certain goals, being determined in action. Because the next thing you know, December is here and you are singing merry Xmas.
I got slightly irritated by the Dino Melaye certificate scandal especially when people thought it concerned me or that I knew him personally.
Well, when I saw him in Zaria about three weeks ago, he was writing his resit exam in my former department. From what I gathered from his classmates, he travelled out during the period of exam on official duties probably and so, had to resit. How come the whole certificate scandal broke out after his picture was circulated on the internet as regards his Masters Program in ABU?
I really have no interest in his certificate or whatsoever. I have no interest in defending ABU, their quality of graduates/certificates and whether Dino went to the institution. Has it reduced the cost of dollar in the exchange market? Is it today that Nigerian leaders have been battling certificate scandals. Even now that he has been cleared, people are still asking questions. #isityourcertificate?#
Nigerians love sensational news and they can go all out to promote whatever propaganda until another news hit the town.
About another news, it was with glee that I followed the “keep the changebae” on social media last night. Do I need to explain that news in full? Its already been overflogged on the internet.
Okies…boy took girl out. They had youghurt and hotdog, saw a film and drank water. Boy thought he had done a great thing and proceeded to ask girl out. She declined. He went on twitter to call her out. She simply refunded his money and told him to keep the change.
The whole world started applauding her. The story went viral. Gossip mill went agog. Yes, she did a commendable thing. Only a girl who has a correct head on her shoulder would do that.
The gist is that brands have used that opportunity to promote themselves, turning it to a social media marketing campaign. First Bank and Wema bank tops the chart with wema bank de-repping as usual.
It seems this is the easiest way to be popular on social media- cause a stir, question a norm/stereotype/do something out of the ordinary then pray it catches the attention of people who would spread it.
The girl, Ore has become popular while the boy, Ayodeji has apologised. May the good Lord bless every hustle
