A NEW CHAPTER; CELEBRATING MY PEEPS
For quite some time now, my parents have been worried about my prospect after my current programme. I have been indifferent to the situation anyway because i know somehow; i would definitely have my hands full.
I have been a compliance officer in HACCP monitoring[Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point] in a cocoa manufacturing company[SON,HALAL and KOSHER CERTIFIED] where i am a temp on national service.
I am responsible for authorisation and documentation, hygiene junction monitoring, food safety management system according to ISO 22000-2005[International Standards Organisation], staff routine hygiene monitoring, inspection of facilities and other quality control operations. Cocoa is a raw material that is processed into cocoa butter, cocoa liquor and cocoa powder for export.
As at yesterday, i was sorely depressed and wondering when God would open the next chapter of my life’s page because He scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe and each day is recorded in His book. In fact, i was almost saying ‘Olorun Why me oo’. I needed a break from that bout of depression and till i went to bed last nite but you know, weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning. When the Lord turned the captivity of zion they were like them that dream, then was there mouth filled with laughter……..
Apart from hearing the message of love and redemption in church, i got good news at home. Now the whole of my folks are so glad. Mr Banji is particularly happy because his fears have been allayed. No, i won’t become a jobless idiot after all. He has been particularly trying to make me go abroad most likely on vacation just to avoid being jobless. In the past few weeks, he has gone round to see how i could travel and has been giving me feedbacks but somehow deep down, i don’t dig it just yet.
My mama said ‘go and marry’ as if they sell husbands in candy shops. She has even started dreaming dreams and seeing visions. I don’t know why but my mama has been troubling me to bring a husband home. Really i don’t know the reason for the hurry. In my own time, when i am mentally, psychologically and intellectually prepared for it. My papa always told me not to copy other people because we all have different timings and destinies. She told me she got married at twenty five and it was seen as a late marriage then. Now, that was in their own stone age [or maybe the days of Elijah] when you could close your eyes and pick a husband without much ado and live happily ever after so far they have no history of madness in their lineage. But things are different now; several factors come into play here; job stability and adequate preparation.
Now, it is more than evident that my days as a temp are numbered and a new chapter about to be opened. Am glad for all I’ve learnt and the wonderful people i have met while on assignment. I have had a whole lot experience in Environmental Biology, now, it is time to fulfil destiny, to go in search of my dreams. The grass is actually greener where you water it according to a blogger.
Wow! Asiwaju on teevee with his beautiful wife who has my kind of stature. I love that woman. I wish i’ll remain like that after having kids. Asiwaju at 60 showing on NTA. So sorry for the digression. I can’t help sneaking a peek at the tv everynow and then but can’t watch because am blogging.
Now, i would be an ingrate if i fail to acknowledge some special friends who have made an impact in my life in this short period. My friend, tynukehfavored badmus encouraged me to find out about blogging, she gave me the phone number of a publisher for my manuscript[yet to be out]and she made this possible, me blogging eventually. We rub minds and share ideas and she’s very supportive of what i do. She is one of my consistent readers and she publicizes me on the internet. She is a biochemist, an analyst and an alumni of UNAAB.

Orisunayomide fagbenle, beautiful, attractive, focused and career minded. she has some of my attributes which am proud of. She will never stop at something, she is constantly aiming higher. I admire her courage and tenacity at her age. She said she read one of my posts[lessons my father taught me] with tears rolling down her face. She has encouraged me so much on BBM. She is a biologist like me yet she‘s attending trainings for CCNA[Cisco Certified Networking Associate]. The sky is not the limit. nice meeting you.

My blunt friend, Busari Yetunde Saudat, she has been a great help at CDS trying to help me clear when i miss it. She actually told and encouraged me about CIPMN[ Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria]. She made sure i put in for it and now, we are going to write the next diet together. She already works in HR/ADMIN in my office. Yes, she greatly commands respect and a no nonsense person.
Towobola Tobiloba Rasheed, he is in production dept, studied chemical engineering from UNILAG. We get to meet in beans store, powder plant and Mr Odofin’s office to rub mind on issues. Hibernation that is what we call it. He is a loyal friend anytime, any day. Tobiloba would always watch your back, try to please you and stay loyal.
My very good friends who left earlier, Durotoye Oluwakoyejo, Food Technologist,[now in the US], Fajimi Akinniyi, Microbiologist, [finished from OAU and BEDFORDSHIRE,UK], Oginni Oladipupo Charles,Food Technologist, now a Masters student in UNAAB. I love you guys. They made a great company. I still miss them.
Asa Oluwakayode[Mr] has been a great fan of my page. He and his wife are greatly appreciated. An alumnus of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. An electrical engineer based in Abuja, Nigeria. The first time i met him at Ilorin, Nigeria, he bought me a malt.

Now to the one who is the closest of them all, Lasisi Abiola, LAUTECH Class of 2007 Chemical Engineering graduate. I am proud of him anyday, anytime. He is very caring and a gentleman. Well, he has made a lot of sacrifices for my sake, leave without pay, risks of travelling now and then. Just the other day, i was broke and couldn’t even go out. He pinged me, i told him. Even though he was sick, he went out to send me cash. He told me to go get good food to eat that he went out because of me. I was telling my friend, Tobby Towobola about it and he said ‘that guy really cares about you’. He is my number one fan and he cares about my writing. He is a darling.
I am grateful to God and my parents for this great opportunity. Because He lives, i can face tomorrow. All fears are gone because he holds my future. Life is worth living because He lives.
Happy Easter Sunday
